A look back at 2018

It has come to that time of year again, where we take a step back and look at what we have achieved over the past 12 months.

Look back on 2018…

2018 has been a year full of exciting things for Grapevine. As well as working with our corporate clients, we have also been busy working on some great award ceremonies throughout the year. This year saw Grapevine manage the inaugural Finance Awards Wales, which was held at Cardiff City Hall. We also held the third Wales Start-Up Awards and the fourth Cardiff Business Awards and the 17th Caerphilly Business Forum Awards, all of which proved to be great successes and celebrated some fabulous businesses. But one of the highlights of year had to be the Fast Growth 50 Awards. 2018 was the 20th anniversary of the awards, so to celebrate the success of the fastest growing Welsh businesses, this year’s awards were held at the Motorpoint Arena on the 19th October, where we had an astonishing 900 people attend.

It has also been another successful year for Cardiff Business Club, with some fantastic speakers including; Carolyn Fairbairn, Director General of the CBI, Founder of Mumsnet, Justine Roberts and Dr. Tristram Hunt, Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. The Club also welcomed Paul Thorburn as the new Secretary after the retirement of Guy Clarke. With 2019 just around the corner and a number of talks already lined up, next year is looking to be another great year for the Club. This year also saw us getting involved with Swansea Bay Business Club; helping them with their day-to-day administration. We look forward to working with them more in 2019.

And finally, this September saw Grapevine grow once again with Paige Cradduck joining the team as events assistant. We are excited to see what opportunities are on the horizon for our expanding business.

Looking ahead to 2019…

2019 is already looking very exciting for Grapevine. We will be launching two brand new awards ceremonies; the Wales Legal Awards and the Wales Transport Awards. We will also be working alongside the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame, of which the Director of Grapevine, Liz Brookes, has been appointed their newest Trustee. All of this along with a few more opportunities in the pipeline, means 2019 is shaping up to be a busy year for us, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us through 2018 and we look forward to working with old and new friends in 2019. If you would like to work with us in 2019, get in touch with us here.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
