With Christmas just around the corner it’s time to take a step back and look at all the events we have been involved with this year.
Cardiff Business Club

With all the events averaging on 150 attendees it is great to be part of the Club’s continued successes.

The third Cardiff Business Awards took place at City Hall on Friday 23rd June. Entertainment on the night was in the form of Lucie Jones, West End star and Eurovision finalist. The black-tie event; one of Cardiff’s most popular business awards saw City Hall at full capacity and Sure Chill take home the top Award on the night.
Caerphilly Business Forum
This year Grapevine Events came on board as coordinators of the Forum, creating a brand-new website and calendar of events. We launched the new look Forum in May with a wonderful talk by Falkland’s War veteran and Caerphilly native Simon Weston CBE. We have had continued success at the Forum with a range of interactive breakfast events set to help the businesses within Caerphilly.
Regen Conference
The first of its kind in Wales, Regen brought together thought leaders from the UK’s urban and rural regeneration industries. A free to attend conference held in Cardiff’s City Hall across two days saw over 350 people attend the conference and exhibition.
Fast Growth 50 Awards 2017
After nineteen years, the Fast Growth 50 Awards were as popular as ever. Held at a packed-out Mercure Holland House Hotel, the awards were hosted by Sian Lloyd who did a wonderful job of managing the room. The Secretary of State, The Rt Hon Alun Cairns MP and Karen Thomas from headline sponsors, Barclays, both gave speeches. 17 awards were given out in total and this year’s fastest growing business was Caerphilly based Aerfin.
Caerphilly Business Forum Awards 2017
For the first time the Awards were held at Llechwen Hall Hotel. This year was the most successful year to date for the Awards with the largest amount of entries and a huge 260 people in attendance. Alex Jones from Coffee 37 took home two awards on the night including the Premier Award.
Looking ahead to 2018...
2018 is looking exciting for Grapevine. We have just won the tender to run the administration for Swansea Bay Business Club which we take over in January. We will also be managing the inaugural Wales Finance Awards in April and working on exciting plans for the 20th Anniversary of Fast Growth 50, to name but a few things that Grapevine will be working on 2018.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us through 2017 and we look forward to working with old friends and new in 2018.
