About the Awards

In their fourth year, the Cardiff Business Awards, co-founded by Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE and Liz Brookes, Director of Grapevine Event Management recognise those companies and individuals that have enjoyed impressive success over the last year and have made an outstanding contribution both to their respective sectors and to the wider Cardiff economy.

This year the awards were rebranded by the wonderful team at Bluegg. We thought that after 3 years the image and landscape of the Welsh capital had changed so we should follow suit to ensure continuity.

We were very fortunate to have NatWest come on board again as headline sponsors of the awards. Jessica Shipman, NatWest Cymru Director for Commercial and Corporate Banking in Cardiff and South East Wales, said:

"NatWest Cymru is both proud and honoured to once again be supporting the prestigious Cardiff Business Awards.

These companies are creating jobs and supporting the wider eco-systems within their communities and we are proud to be supporting their growth and recognising the success of those in Cardiff at this year's awards."

After 3 days of judging, Prof Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, chair of the judges for the Cardiff Business Awards, said:

"For a fourth successive year, myself and the rest of the judging panel have been overwhelmed by the quality of award entries received this year."

With the categories ranging from leisure & hospitality to technology and young entrepreneur of the year, the awards recognised a wide range of businesses and individuals from all across the capital.

On the night, with a full house of over 450 people, 19 categories were celebrated with the Cardiff Business of the Year accolade going to CELSA Steel UK who also won Green Business of the Year, while the Outstanding Contribution to Cardiff award went to Cardiff Start - the capital city's digital and technology start-up network.

"Again, I am blown away by the volume and calibre of the entries. Year on year the standards continue to increase and overwhelm us with the evident range great talent, drive and success that runs through every sector or the capital economy.

A huge congratulations to this year's winners as well as each of the finalists who are also recognised for their hard work and the success this has delivered for them.
