Not forgetting the monthly Cardiff Business Club events, the Welsh Sport Hall of Fame Charity Dinner, UWC Atlantic 60th Anniversary celebrations, and of course the 24-hour flying visit to Birmingham coordinating the first NICRP Conference!
Within my first week I was assisting at a Cardiff Business Club event (talk about hit the ground running). A great first event within a new company, as this felt like a re-introduction to the Cardiff business community and people in time I could call upon for advice.
Only a few months in to the job in July we found ourselves on the hottest day of the year in an underground venue besides the Thames for an awards ceremony… which doesn’t sound like an ideal location to be for a black-tie event. However, the Underglobe, located under the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe was an incredible setting for the first Fintech Awards London. You’ll be happy to know the event started with napkin waving and singing waiters and ended with dancing into the early hours!
From day conferences to black tie awards nights, from Cardiff to Birmingham to London, Grapevine Event Management has had it all! To say my first 8 months have been hectic would be an understatement, however is there any other way of working in events?
Moving back from London at the end of last year was daunting at first, but it was so worthwhile to catch up with familiar faces along with the added bonus of meeting new people within the South Wales business community. The experience as a whole has been motivational and so inspiring. With December right around the corner, the Grapevine Event Management award season has come to a close for 2022. Of course, we finished big with the ever-fantastic Cardiff Business Awards, and we can all agree it’s a showstopper of an event!
2022 has been a whirlwind of a year and looking ahead I cannot wait to be a part of what’s to come in 2023!
